The Importance of Learning APA Style

I know, your professor tells you to ensure that your paper follows APA formatting; however, you just want to turn in the paper and be done, right?!

There are many reasons why it is a good idea to learn proper APA techniques. First, if your goal is to finish a dissertation or submit an article for publication, you will need to know how to follow the guidelines in order to receive an approval. Second, your class papers (and anything else you work on) will flow better (and look a lot nicer) if you are following APA. Finally, APA style formatting is the standard in the Social Sciences fields; thus, ensuring that your paper is in the proper format allows you to present a professional piece that others will take seriously.
